My Approach: Learning Design with Purpose
I believe that effective learning doesn’t happen by accident. It’s meticulously designed with clear goals, a deep understanding of the audience, and creative problem-solving. For small businesses, this means training solutions that:
- Deliver measurable results without enterprise-level budgets
- Solve real business problems rather than checking boxes
- Respect your team’s time and workflow
- Scale with your growth
My Story: The Training Partner for Growing Businesses
My journey into instructional design began in a classroom, but it was transformed when I started working with a small e-learning company providing quality assurance. What was meant to be a short-term position quickly evolved as I discovered my passion for creating learning experiences that actually worked.
I remember reviewing a particularly dry compliance course that was failing to engage learners. The content was important-potentially life-saving-but the delivery was putting people to sleep. I redesigned the approach with scenario-based learning and realistic interactions. The result? Completion rates doubled, and more importantly, the knowledge was actually being applied on the job.
That moment crystallized something for me: small businesses don’t need cookie-cutter training solutions. They need a partner who understands their unique challenges and can design learning experiences that reflect their reality.
For the past two decades, I’ve been that partner-combining my background in education with a practical understanding of business needs. Whether I’m designing an onboarding program for a growing tech startup or creating compliance training for a healthcare provider, my focus remains the same: learning that transforms.
