I developed blended orientation training for non-aquatics staff including reception and summer camp staff regarding how to respond to an emergency in the pool area for Atlantic Fitness East.
The training consisted of two pieces:
- E-learning module – Designed to review the important aspects of the practical training and prepare employees for participating in the practical training component (15 minutes in duration)
- Facilitator’s Guide for Practical Training Component – The practical training component consists of an opportunity to practice using a variety of reaching and throwing assists to assist a person who is struggling in the water. The practical component is designed to be facilitated by the Aquatics Supervisor who has formal training in the skills and techniques being reviewed.
The e-learning course was built using storyline and includes click and display interactions as well as video explanations.
